Assignments:
Students can expect a new assignment every day we have class. It is possible for students to finish the assigned work in class, but daily homework should be anticipated. It is expected that they return to class the next day with their assignment completed. Students that are absent are responsible for watching the lessons online and completing the corresponding individual work.
Assignments will be graded in two different ways: Accuracy and Completion.
Completion grades are due the next day after an homeworks assignment is assigned. The completion grade can not be made up. Students who are absent are welcome to watch the videos online and come to class with any questions that they may have. 2 completion grades will be dropped at the end of the quarter to account for absences.
Accuracy grades will be determined at the end of the unit. A student can work and rework their assignment as needed throughout the unit. An answer key will be available to check as the student wishes throughout the unit to ensure they are doing the work correctly. Students are expected to come to class on the day of the test with their homework complete and ready to turn in. If for some reason the student does not have their assignments ready to turn in on the day of the test, the dead day for the unit is the class period after the exam is given.
Reference Guide:
Students will keep a reference guide this year in a graph composition notebook. This guide will include key points made throughout the lesson, example problems, and formulas. The reference guide will be graded periodically and without warning.
Extra Credit:
*Students will earn tickets by participating in class. These tickets can be redeemed for extra credit at the end of the quarter. No more than a 2% bump will be allowed with Extra Credit Tickets.
*Students may remediate one test per quarter and earn up to 1/2 of the points back that they originally missed.
*No other extra credit will be offered. Please make sure you are monitoring your grade througout the course of the quarter to ensure the grade you earn is the grade you want.
